Technical data

TITAN injection drilled anchors can be used as piles, tie-back anchors, micro piles, soil nails, rock bolts, or for the reinforced earth method.

A unique feature of the TITAN injection drilled anchors is that the drill steel is left in the ground as the tension or compression member, based on the following 7 ideas:

  • Utilisation of a steel tube as an anchor. From the static point of view, a tube is superior to a solid rod of the same cross sectional area with respect to bending moment, shear resistance and surface friction.
  • Creation of an economically priced drill rod and sacrificial drill bit eliminates three labour intensive elements: insertion of the casing, insertion of the tendon and removal of the casing.
  • Utilising the anchor tube for "bottom-up" pressure grouting results in a positive filling of the borehole including all cracks and fissures thus eliminating venting and post grouting tubes.
  • The use of high quality micro alloy structural steel StE 335 or StE 460 to DIN 17124 offers high notch toughness of min. 39 J compared to high tensile bars or strands having less than 15 J. There is a similar advantage over glass fibre anchors. This steel is not effected by hydrogen embrittlement, stress crack corrosion or post rolling heat treatment. It also offers high shear resistance.
  • The use of a ferritic-austenitic TITAN INOX stainless steel for permanent anchors in highly aggressive ground conditions. This material 1.4462 is equivalent to "double corrosion" DIN 50929 part 3 - likeliness of corrosion in construction parts and underwater construction. Working with this TITAN INOX material is much easier than with the standard permanent anchors with grout filled plastic tubes, especially as far as extension (coupling) and the preparation of the anchor heads are concerned.
  • The use of deep threads to DIN 488 and other international standards for steel reinforcement provides a friction bond with the grout body which is 2,4 times superior to that of a rope thread tendon R 32 or R 38. This is very significant when grout body crack width limitation has to be considered for permanent works.
  • An all threaded tendon permits cutting and coupling for shortening, extending and load releasing. The thread pitch of 6 degrees eliminates the need for double lock nuts for each coupler.

Product Specifications
Ischebeck Titan hollow bar type denotes external diameter of bar followed by its internal diameter. For example, a Titan 30/16 bar has an external diameter of 30mm and an internal diameter of 16mm.
